I’ve lived in the New York City area since 1996. I have eaten a lot of meals at a lot of restaurants. San Matteo Pizzeria e Cucina rated in my top 10. It was so good that I’m almost kind of upset that I hadn’t been there before!
Chef Fabio Casella has curated what I believe might be some of the most authentic Italian food in our fine city. His Neapolitan pizze is as near perfect as it can be. The crust has a delicate balance between being chewy and crusty.
This is their Diavola pie – Tomato sauce, Fresh Basil, Homemade Mozzarella, Spicy Soppressata, Parmigiano Reggiano. Make sure you eat it.
Also, get the Pasta in a bag. I know, that sounds like some flashy gimmick but it is the best Primavera pasta I’ve ever had in my life. Check the video to see this amazing pasta dish.
