When a burger stand has been around for more than 75 years, you know they are doing something right. The griddled onion Cheeseburger at Town Topic Hamburgers in Kansas City has been on my burger bucket list for a very long time.
(Yes I have a Burger bucket list.)
And while it’s no longer on that list, I totally understand why it deserves to be there and why it deserves to be on your Burger bucket list.

They will ask you if you want onions on your burger and the obvious answer is yes. The exciting moment happens after the patties have already been smashed on the griddle when the large bucket of sliced onions comes out. A good handful gets whacked on top of each Burger and it’s cooked right into the patty.
It’s one of the best Burgers I’ve ever eaten. Actually that’s not telling the whole story…. It’s four of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten.
(Yes, I ate 4 Burgers … for breakfast.)
