Barspyder.com & Burgerconquest.com attempt to break a world record thwarted by a blizzard

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Barspyder.com & Burgerconquest.com attempt to break a world record thwarted by a blizzard.

New York, NY – January 12, 2011

Barspyder’s (www.barspyder.com) GM and reality television personality “Crazy” James Zinkand attempted to break a world record for most bars visited by a single man in 24 hours. The pub crawl was called off at 11:00 PM EST, 6 hours and 26 bars into the attempt. After passing the midway point to break the record, the direction of BarSpyder called off the world record attempt due to hazardous walking conditions caused by gail force winds and snow fall of 2-3 inches per hour.

“Crazy” James, The Rev From Burger Conquest (www.burgerconquest.com), and Newcomer “Captain Cook” were averaging just under 5 bars per hour in their attempt to surpass the world record of 50 bars visited by one man in 24 hours. The decision to suspend the attempt came as a disheartening blow to all participants, but their guides, namely BarSpyder employees put safety first. The group will reattempt a record break  with a new group of challengers.

The next  attempt, Date TBA, will commence at 9pm at International Bar and break the current record at 830pm the following day at Idle Hands bar. All challengers are welcome to participate by applying for the challenge at BarSpyder.com, where pictures and videos from the suspended event can be viewed.

Some pictures from the event can be seen on the Burger Conquest Facebook page.
